Our approach
How we measure your progress and vet our specialists
Two things should never be a mystery: how your sessions are going and who you are talking to. Here is what we ask of you, what we check in our specialists and who gets to see what.
Your progress, in plain view
A few short questions, one simple chart and goals in your own words. They help you and your specialist see where the sessions are heading. None of it is compulsory and nothing has a right or wrong answer.
-
Your feedback after a session
Afterwards you score 5 statements from 0 to 10: did you feel safe, did we cover what mattered, was it useful, did you move a step forward, would you like to carry on. We wrote this short scale ourselves.
-
A simple progress view
Your account shows your sessions, your goals and the results of any tests you took yourself, side by side.
-
Goals you set
Keep up to 3 goals at a time and update them as you go. Your specialist can see them, so you can talk them through together.
If progress slows down
Numbers sometimes stay flat or dip for a while. That says nothing bad about you and it is not a diagnosis. It is a prompt for you and your specialist to look at the plan together and adjust it. One answer on its own means little; the trend over several sessions is what counts.
Who sees your answers
They are never shown on a public page. Your specialist sees them only if you agree to this in the intake form. Platform-wide reports add many people together and name no one, and only authorised team members can open an account, for support or quality work. The privacy policy has the details.
Before, during and after a session
-
Before
You book and fill in the intake form, where you choose whether your specialist may see your questionnaire answers.
-
During
You meet your specialist by video, by phone or in person. They can read your goals and, if you shared them, your answers.
-
After
You give your short feedback, can leave a rating and a review, and can report a problem with the session.
How we vet our specialists
Nobody appears in the directory before our team has approved them. After that we keep reviewing the signs of quality.
-
They apply
The specialist enters their degree and field, their licence number and a short introduction, and uploads their documents.
-
A person reads the documents
A member of our team reviews the licence and the documents. If something is missing, we ask for it before going any further.
-
We talk with them
Our team holds an interview and keeps a written note of it.
-
Approval, then publishing
A profile can only go live after approval. Later edits to key details, such as degrees, licence number, areas of work and the introduction, are reviewed before they show.
Once someone is listed
-
Ratings and reviews
After a session you can rate it and write a review. Only people who had a session can do so, and our team reads each review before it shows publicly. A very low rating or feedback score flags that session for a closer look.
-
Problem reports
If a session goes wrong, for example the specialist does not show up, you can report it. Our team looks into it and can refund the session or move it. A specialist who misses sessions repeatedly is flagged for review.
-
Supervisor reviews
Reviews by a clinical supervisor are recorded across seven areas of practice, from the therapeutic relationship and case formulation to ethics, confidentiality and record keeping.
If standards slip
We can take a specialist off the public list at any time. It happens at once when a supervisor review is not approved, and automatically when the licence on file expires, until it is renewed and checked again.
Questions people ask
Do I have to answer the questionnaires?
No. They are never a condition for booking or carrying on. The more you answer, the clearer your chart becomes.
Do these questionnaires diagnose anything?
No. They only follow how you are feeling over time and cannot replace your specialist’s judgement.
Can I change specialist?
Yes. If it does not feel like a good fit, send a change request from your account and our team will review it.
Do you publish success rates?
No. Clients and goals differ too much for one number to compare specialists fairly, so we do not rank anyone by outcome figures and we do not promise results.
